Persian Lilyhan, An impressive small rug known as a Lilyhan. These rugs were made in a small village near the town of Sarouk. They are known for their less busy motif, distinct pattern, and very soft wool. It feels like silk. It 6-9x9-3, circa 1915.

Circa 1900, 6x10-5, This Kurdish rug from northwest Persia features a central field with a repeating pattern of elaborate vase motifs, each symmetrically arranged along the central axis. The vases are depicted with intricate floral decorations and vine elements, which add a sense of harmony and natural beauty to the design. The motif is on a soft cream field. The rich red border is adorned with traditional Kurdish designs, adding depth and contrast. The inscription on the rug is in Persian (Farsi) and is likely a signature or a poetic verse.

This is an Indian Amritsar, which is a very rare rug. It shows some wear, but still can be used for a long time. Soft red medallion and border is on an ivory field, which is characteristic of the Ameristar motif. Measures 10-3x12-6

This is a Persian Khorasan. It is a very uncommon motif with a striking red medallion on a blue field with ivory spandrels and a red border. It is 10x13 and was woven around 1910.

This is a Persian Sultanabad or otherwise known as an early Mahal. Sultanabad’s are known for their all over motif of flowers, vines, and tendrils. This particular rug is very unusual in that it has so many colors; blues, greens, and even yellow. It also has an ivory border so that it has a very light over-all appearance. Circa 1900. 8-10x11-10.
