This rug is a magnificent antique Persian Serapi, which is just a very early Heriz rug. It has an ivory background which is highly desirable, and a soft rust colored border. It is from around 1880 and is in perfect condition. The size is 9 foot, 3 inches by 14 foot, 2 inches.

This is an Indian Amritsar, which is a very rare rug. It shows some wear, but still can be used for a long time. Soft red medallion and border is on an ivory field, which is characteristic of the Ameristar motif. Measures 10-3x12-6

This is a Persian Khorasan. It is a very uncommon motif with a striking red medallion on a blue field with ivory spandrels and a red border. It is 10x13 and was woven around 1910.

This is a Persian Sultanabad or otherwise known as an early Mahal. Sultanabad’s are known for their all over motif of flowers, vines, and tendrils. This particular rug is very unusual in that it has so many colors; blues, greens, and even yellow. It also has an ivory border so that it has a very light over-all appearance. Circa 1900. 8-10x11-10.

6x8 Sewan Kazak from the Caucasus. The classic Sewan pattern is the arrow-headed ended cruciform medallion with the characteristic green background. The border is the typical serrated leaf and rosette motif. This rug is also referred to as a Shield Kazak. It is circa 1890.

A very rare antique Persian Fereghan Sarouk with an ivory field and no center medallion from 1890. It is a room size, 10-10 x 13-7. Highly decorative with the pastel feel with lots of ivory, a soft rust, and a delicate green color.

Antique Persian Heriz, Geometric Serapi Design, Rust Tan Blue, Wool, Room Size This is a gracious and beautiful Persian Heriz (though lots of dealers would call it a Serapi). The field is rust with light blue spandrels and a wonderful flowers and leaves motif border with navy background. The design also uses lots of beautiful tans and golds. circa 1915. It is 9x11-9.
